Getting to Scotland by Air

Scotland has four international airports

Edinburgh Airport (EDI):
Located near the Scottish capital, it's the busiest airport in Scotland and the sixth busiest in the UK with flights to and from more than 150 worldwide destinations.

Edinburgh Airport offers easy access to Edinburgh City Centre with tram, taxi and bus links plus car hire available.
Glasgow Airport (GLA):
Also known as Glasgow International Airport, it's one of the two airports serving Glasgow and connects to various international destinations.

Glasgow Airport is the only airport in Scotland with direct motorway access, making it extremely easy and simple to get to and from by bus, car or taxi.

Glasgow Prestwick Airport (PIK)
Primarily serves Ryanair, freight, and charter operators. You can fly from a small selection of European airports to Glasgow Prestwick.

Glasgow Prestwick Airport is served by its own railway station which is accessible by a short, covered walkway to/from the airport terminal building. By bus or car, Glasgow Prestwick is about 40 minutes from central Glasgow and an hour and forty five minutes from Edinburgh.
Aberdeen International Airport (ABZ):
Serves the city of Aberdeen and surrounding areas, offering international and domestic flights.

It is easy to get to and from Aberdeen Airport via train, taxi and bus. There are also several airport hotels nearby and the P&J Live – the venue for the Global Agritourism Conference is just a few minutes away.
Please note that during the conference complimentary shuttle buses will run at regular intervals from airport hotels to and from the P&J Live and Aberdeen city centre.

Getting to Scotland by Sea

Options for getting to Scotland by sea are limited but you can take a ferry from Northern Ireland or mainland Europe (arriving in England). Ferries from Northern Ireland arrive at Cairnryan or Troon, while ferries from Europe, which arrive in England, will require a drive or train journey to reach Scotland. Popular routes include from Belfast and Larne (Northern Ireland) to Cairnryan, and from Amsterdam (Ijmuiden) to Newcastle.
