Learning Journeys

Scotland’s agritourism community will welcome delegates attending the international conference to participate in unique, immersive, knowledge exchange experience, on farms all across the country both before and after the main conference takes place.

The farm visits on each Learning Journey will not be the consumer-friendly farm tours that members of the public would undertake. These are bespoke, deeply engaging and thought-provoking encounters, curated especially for delegates of the Global Agritourism Conference 2026.

Each Learning Journey includes:

  • Behind the scenes insights from both the agritourism/farm retail and farming enterprises

  • Discussion with farming hosts about their business story to date

  • Honest sharing of the highs and lows of running a multi-venture agri-business in Scotland

  • A bespoke tour not available to regular tourists

  • Handpicked quality agritourism and farm retail businesses at the top of their game

  • A knowledgeable guide for your trip who knows about Scotland, agritourism and farming

  • All quality hotel accommodation

  • All transport on coaches and where relevant, ferry transport

  • All food and drink including evening meals, lunch, breakfast, coffee/tea breaks with farmhouse home baking

  • One on farm evening BBQ event per tour

  • Stunning Scottish landscapes

  • Authentic Scottish cultural experiences

Pre-conference Learning Journeys consist of two different two-day options, starting in Edinburgh after the Royal Highland Show (Sunday 21st June), and ending in Aberdeen on the evening of Monday the 22nd June).

Post-conference Learning Journeys offer three different five-day tour options, beginning in Aberdeen on Thursday 25th June and ending in Edinburgh or Glasgow. These post-conference Learning Journeys provide an option to take part for the full five days or three or four days of the itinerary.
